NICOLETTA ROCCANOVA TALMADGE

Nicoletta Roccanova Talmadge, a native of New York City and a longtime Savannah resident, died on Saturday, December 22, 2007; she was ninety-six. Nell, as she was known to her friends, was a first-generation American citizen and proudly described herself as an American of Italian descent. She was a lifetime supporter of St. Joseph’s Indian School in Chamberlain, SD, a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and an active participant in the St. Thomas Episcopal Church Senior Friendship Days.

Mrs. Talmadge was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Hirst Talmadge, her granddaughter, Anastasia Irwin Edson, her great granddaughter, Brittany Alaina Harbuck and all of her siblings.

She is survived by her daughter, Marylyn Talmadge Carey, her son and daughter-in-law, William A. and Kathleen Talmadge, her son and daughter-in-law, Clinton P. and Diane Talmadge, her daughter and son-in-law, Edith and Greg Irwin, twelve grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

A Rosary Service with a Mass to follow will be held on Friday, December 28, 2007 at seven o’clock in the evening at St. James Catholic Church.
Interment will take place next spring in New York.
